brief bio

I am a Ph.D student in School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. I am working in the Spoken Language Processing Laboratory and my advisor is Prof. Mary P. Harper.
My research interests are nonverbal communication processing, e.g., gaze, gesture, and body postuer, structural events detection based on nonverbal cues, speech and natural language processing, and multimodal meeting content analysis. Specifically, I have been investigating methods of utilizing gaze and gesture cues for structural event detection (e.g., sentence boundaries, speech repairs, and floor control change in dialogs and multi-party meetings). Before joining Spoken Languae Processing Lab at Purdue University, I obtained my M.Sc in Institue of Acoustics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2000. I obtained my BE in Tianjin University of China in 1997.
