ECN 4.3 Revision 86 is Available

Marian Hensler

The ECN Revision 86 is a companion manual created here at Purdue to be used in conjunction with the other UNIX manuals. This manual consists of commands that are not considered "standard Berkeley Unix" as distributed and documented in the 4.3 release. The Revision is available at the Purdue Armory for $7.40.

The commands in this manual have been developed here at Purdue or selected from user contributed software to meet our special needs. All of the commands included in this manual are on the Engineering Computer Network (ECN), some with the notation "Purdue University" are also available at Purdue University Computer Center (PUCC) and Computer Science (CS) sites on campus.

The ECN Revision 86 has been divided into sections to correspond to the number that appears after a command on the top line of the standard UNIX manuals. Generally, sections 1, 6 and 7 correspond with the UNIX User's Reference Manual (URM), sections 2, 3, 4 and 5 correspond with the UNIX Programmer's Reference Manual (PRM), and section 8 corresponds with UNIX System Manager's Manual (SMM). If a command is described in both the standard UNIX manuals and the ECN Revision 86; this revision supersedes the other manuals.
