[next article]Some people have you been wondering when the next ECN Network map would be put up for display outside room 104 of MSEE. Well, wonder no more! The 1990 ECN Network map is nearing completion.
After many months of research, updates, and revisions, this new map is almost ready for display. It is taking on a slightly different look than the previous ones. We have included new icons for Sun servers, laser printers, terminals, and other types of hardware.
Since the overall speed of the network has increased, we have moved to a different color scheme. Each color on the map indicates a different "MIPS" rating. MIPS stands for Millions of Instructions Per Second.
Well, on to the good stuff; here are some numbers that might take you by surprise:
