[previous article] [next article]This past Summer, Agriculture & Biological Engineering upgraded the 16 Sun workstations in its student computer lab by replacing older Sun LX workstations with new Sun Ultra 1 workstations. Each new workstation is not only much faster; it has a nice large 20" color monitor.
Drs. Engel and Jones were instrumental in obtaining funding for the equipment upgrade for use in ABE undergraduate engineering course studies, such as GIS, finite elements, CAD, dynamic system modeling, and of course WWW and word processing work. These machines run the UNIX Solaris 2.5 operating system and fit cleanly into our existing computing environment.
