Scharenberg Joins PACE Project
ECN central staff member, Maryjane Scharenberg, joined the PACE
project last spring. As a member of the PACE team, Maryjane will be
investigating strategies which will enable students to use home computers
for class assignments.
She will also explore techniques to integrate UNIX, Windows NT,
Windows 95, and MacOS computers on the campus networks.
One goal of the Purdue Academic Computing Environment project is
to enable and encourage the use
of student home computers through intergration with instructional programs
and development of accessible network services.
Maryjane's last ECN project was helping to improve the configuration
of IBM and Silicon Graphics computers running variants of UNIX. Users now
will find standard commands in standard locations on all supported UNIX
computers at ECN.
