ECN Public Files Being Updated
Kimberly Johnson
kimberly@ecn.purdue.edu
We are replicating and upgrading the Macintosh Files
currently available
on the ECN Public AUFS (Apple to Unix File Sharing) server
to a new Microsoft NT File Server in the MSEE zone
(the server is named ECN Microsoft NT Server).
This system is a new addition to the Engineering Computer Network.
The files will be put in the ECN Mac File volume.
The ECN Mac File volume on the NT Server will store
the latest in software, drivers, system updates, and miscellaneous software.
We are taking this opportunity to remove outdated files,
and add current files.
Accessing ECN's NT Server
You may access ECN's NT server with or without an account.
If you already have an account on the NT Server
you will be prompted to select a logon method.
You should select Apple Shared UAMs and not Microsoft Authentication.
In either case,
you will only be allowed to log on as a Guest.
Once you log on successfully,
you will be prompted with the following message:
"Welcome to the ECN Microsoft NT Server."
Click the
