[previous article] [next article]April 1, 1998, Josh Hogle became the new Civil Engineering Site Specialist. Josh is taking the place of Jim Moore who stepped down from the position on March 6, 1998.
Josh is not a new face to the ECN staff or Civil Engineering. Back in his early years (1994 to be exact), he joined the ranks of the work-study students at Purdue when he was hired by Stacey Clark as a consultant for the Civil PC lab. Through the years, he slowly climbed the ranks, and on October 1, 1997, he was offered the position of Assistant Computer Systems Analyst for Civil Engineering and became an official member of the ECN staff.
A graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School in Ft. Wayne, IN, Josh came to Purdue thinking he knew what he wanted to do, but like so many students, decided to change his major in the spring of 1997. He currently attends school on a part-time basis working toward a B.S. in Computer Science which he expects to receive around May of 2001. He has taken classes in advanced C programming, data structures, C++, and is currently taking a class in compiler engineering. He hopes to take classes in operating systems and networks as well as database programming. In the past, Josh has worked as a co-op student for Lexmark International, Inc. in Lexington, KY, where he developed installation software for printer drivers.
In his spare time, Josh can be found programming his computer, watching one of his favorite two shows, Seinfeld and The X-Files, mountain biking, or even rollerblading (although, he spends more time on the ground than he does on his rollerblades). On occasion, Josh can even be found driving home to fix his parents' and brother's computers. He also hopes to teach some short-courses on C++ and other really cool computer stuff.
Josh's office is CIVL 3158; his phone number is 496-2496. The URL for his Web page is http://www.ecn.purdue.edu/~hogle/ and his email address is hogle@purdue.edu.
