How to Install Microsoft® eMbedded Visual Tools 3.0

Note: The file en_wince_embdvtools30.exe you may download here is a Win-RAR self-extractor archive. You need to extract its contents to a temporal directory and then execute the installation file. Extracted file size is 735MB.
  1. Choose the destination folder to extract the file (e.g. C:\Temp\EVT3. See figure below).
  2. Browse the directory which contains the extracted files and open the DISK1 folder. Double-click on setup.exe.
  3. During installation of EVT3, when prompted to enter the Poduct Number, enter the CDKey you can find on the CDKey.txt file in the directory that contains the extracted files.

5. Selecting the components you wish to install. To program your Jornada you need to select at least the eMbedded Visual Tools 3.0 and the WinCE Platform SDK (HPC Pro)





6. Choosing the destination folder for the WinCE Tools





7. Setup of the eMbedded Visual Tools starts. Select ALL the items




8. Installing the Windows CE Platform SDK (H/PC Pro)


















  • Note: When finished, the help file hpcproreadme.htm will open automatically.





9. Installation of Windows CE Platform SDK (Palm-size PC 1.2) begins (only if it was selected in Step 5). Similar dialog windows to the ones in Step 8 will display.


  • Follow the on-screen instructions. When finished, the help file pspc12readme.htm will open automatically.


10. Installation of Windows Platform SDK for Pocket PC begins (only if it was selected in Step 5).



















The installation is finished. If you have accepted the default directories when installing Microsoft eMbedded Visual Tools, additional documentation can be found in the following locations:
