Indiana farm fatality reports are compiled by Purdue's Agricultural Safety and Health Program through a variety of sources, including a contracted news clipping service, voluntary reporting from Extension educators and individuals, personal interviews, and a nationwide farm injury surveillance report provided by the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health at the University of Iowa. No cases are identified using official death certificates due to the lack of access to these records at the Indiana Department of Health.
