Procedure

Interested in joining the AIAA Purdue chapter? All you need to do is:

1. Come to one of our meetings! Check out when our next meeting is scheduled here.
    
2. Fill out the Purdue AIAA Membership Form! Download it here, fill it out, and return it to the AIAA mailbox in GRIS 332, or simply mail it in!
    
3. Contact our secretary for more information and forms regarding membership.

Interaction

Probably the most important reason to join the Purdue Chapter of the AIAA is that it provides an excellent opportunity to interact with both upper level undergraduate students and graduate students.  These contacts can provide insight into career options, advice on classes, and leads on internship or co-op opportunities.

Industry Links

The Purdue Chapter of the AIAA is also an important link to industry. The chapter organizes lectures by speakers from various aerospace companies, in order to keep members up to date on the latest developments in the aerospace industry and give them insight into what it is like to work on them.

Resume CD

The Purdue Chapter of the AIAA publishes a resume CD containing chapter member resumes.  These CDs are distributed to many interested companies and are a great way to get your resume to the places it will do the most good.

The AIAA resume CD is printed on a as need basis, so new resumes are always accepted.  Guidelines for the resume are:

• The resume must be submitted electronically to aiaa@ecn.purdue.edu in Word (.doc), Portable Document Format (.pdf), and / or Hypertext Mark-up Language (.html) format.
• No restriction on length or design exists.
  
  If you represent a company and would like to request a copy of the resume book please fill out the Resume CD request form.

Indiana Chapter

Several times over the course of the year there will be meetings of the Indiana Chapter of AIAA.  Typically these meetings take place in Indianapolis, but have on occasion been here at Purdue.  These meetings allow the student members of the Purdue chapter to interact with the professional members.  The AIAA student branch frequently arranges transportation to and from the meetings in Indianapolis.

National benefits

One of the biggest benefits of being a student member is that the Purdue chapter serves as your liason to the National Chapter of AIAA.  The national chapter of AIAA offers many benefits to student members such as scholarships, student conferences, and design contests.  To learn more about the national chapter you can check out their home page at www.aiaa.org
