About:
For the upcoming year in Philanthropy, the Committee Heads
will have a meeting with all those interested in volunteering for charitable
events and see which events we can sponsor with members.
Current events in progress for 2009-2010 include: organizing a Red Cross Blood
Drive in Forney, Boo at the Zoo volunteering, teaching elementary school
students about engineering through TEAMS with SWE, volunteering at the Almost
Home Humane Society, and planning for other events such as Lafayette Urban
Ministry tutoring, Habitat for Humanity, and the Relay for Life.
During our support of the Almost Home Humane Society, the members of AIChE
Philanthropy raised over $400 and several man-hours of volunteering to benefit the homeless animals of the Lafayette
community.
