About:
The Professional Development Committee is a new committee for the 2009-2010 school year. Its purpose is to help students with their search for internships, co-op positions, and permanent careers.
Specifically, the Professional Development Committee will help students work on their resumes (alongside the work of the Center for Career Opportunities), give advice on interviewing etiquette, and provide AIChE member valuable information on companies that are looking to hire Chemical Engineers.
AIChE has a long-standing history with several companies who look for membership in this organization on resumes. Those companies with good relations with AIChE regularly hold information sessions, plant trips, and banquets before the Industrial Roundtable.
The IR Banquet for 2009 was a great success as several company representatives showed up to speak with exclusively AIChE members before the Industrial Roundtable. This was a great opportunity for students to learn more about the companies before they attended IR.
