Welcome to AISL web site!

AISL is an innovative center for theoretical and experimental research on intelligent systems. The lab members' research is primarily focused on but not limited to, the various aspects of the rapidly growing nuclear industry. AISL occupies some laboratory space in the Nuclear Engineering building and experimental facilities located in the Aviation Technology Center at Purdue University.
You can navigate in our web site by following the links on the right and on the top of this web page.
Check also our news and announcements section at the bottom to catch up with our latest news!

Our Mission and Vision:

  • Apply intelligent methodologies to real-world engineering systems
  • Learn about and improve artificial intelligence methods through engineering applications
  • Enhance our understanding of the human-machine relation
  • Computational and physical experimentation

Academics:

The School of Nuclear Engineering at Purdue offers a number of advanced courses in Nuclear Reactor Statics, Dynamics, Thermohydraulics, Fusion, Nuclear Safety, Radiation Measurements, Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic and Radioactive Waste Management. All AISL members are encouraged to take courses on Artificial Intelligence. These courses create a powerful combination, providing great oppurtunities for research, or a rewarding industrial or civic career. The pattern recognition, diagnostic and system identification task skills taught are applicable in a variety of areas not only limited to Nuclear Engineering. Graduates will be able to take these tools anywhere sophisticated analysis and computation is beneficial.
