Spring Fest (Envision)
Teamleader: Colby Baker
Description:
Spring Fest features nearly 30 sites around Purdue University’s campus including the Entomology Bug Bowl, Purdue Horticulture Show, Boiler Barnyard, Food Science Fun Fair, Boiler Brick Bowl, Veterinary Medicine Open House, and Envision, among others. ASCE participates in the Envision display by hosting an educational activity for children that promotes interest in civil engineering. In Spring 2008, ASCE organized a display and a craft project based on geodesic domes. Children could read about the history of the geodesic dome and admire a 6 foot diameter dome made of straws and paper tacks while making a smaller model of their own.
