Types of research initiatives (for groups 2, 3 and 4):
NSF should fund more inter-disciplinary and infrastructure type of
research. In order to have a broader impact of IDM sponsored research,
the
database research community needs to collaborate across several disciplines,
with a heavy emphasis on producing viable solutions and building
infrastructures.
