I am a computer engineering student at Purdue University on a four-student senior design team developing a portable book reader product. Student teams in this course develop very modern, advanced projects such as VoIP systems, wireless MP3 players, and laser projectors.

We have surveyed many available display technologies for our product, and your 6" Electrophoretic Display Panel and Prototyping Kit product offerings would work excellently for our design. My project team intends to develop a PCB board with the following components: an interface to your display, a microcontroller, memory, and a USB communication port. One of our team members has extensive experience interfacing with bistable display technology. If we utilize your prototyping kit, we would likely use the additional components for software development while we develop our own PCB board.

We would like to see whether E Ink may be willing to offer a student discount or donation on either product. In return, we can provide you with mention on our product website, weekly progress updates, and videos of the final product. In the past, project teams have also been sponsored by companies or student engineering organizations.
