Soil and Geologic Condition Assessment

5 Points
Due: November 7

Using the Soil and Geologic Condition software, evaluate the following scenario. Were there any problems identified? Provide the results and a brief interpretation of the results. You can capture the result screens or note the results in your brief writeup.

An area that is being considered for development of an agribusiness has the following characteristics. The proposed business will utilize a significant volume of water and must obtain that water from groundwater sources at the site. The somewhat poorly drained soil is of the aquic soil series subgroup with a silt loam surface texture and a silty clay loam subsoil (horizon B) texture. The subsoil permeability is low to very low. The depth of the soil (A and B horizons) is approximately 50 inches. The geologic material near the surface is silt with bedrock at approximately 80 feet deep. The pH of the soil is 6.5. The depth to groundwater is approximately 80 feet.

Note: Make assumptions as required when completing the risk assessment.
