Grain Drying, Handling and Storage Handbook
MWPS-13 $7.00

Recommendations for grain systems are summarized. Locating and developing a grain center is covered. A checklist of issues to consider is included. The producer will find assistance in layout, planning, expanding, and improving grain system operations. Information on drying and storing grain in existing facilities is highlighted. Other chapters cover grain receiving and conveying; storage types and selection; managing grain in storage; and drying systems. 88 pages. 2nd Ed. 1987 ISBN 0-89373-071-8

Low Temperature and Solar Grain Drying Handbook
MWPS-22 $6.00

This handbook is organized into two major subjects: low temperature grain drying; and principles of solar heating. Procedures and recommendations are given for the North Central region. Data on collecting, storing, and using solar energy is presented. Included are examples of plans for various solar collectors. 86 pages. 1st Ed. 1980 ISBN 0-89373-048-3

Dry Grain Aeration Systems Design Handbook
MWPS-29 $22.00

This design handbook is for those interested in learning about the art and science of aeration system design. It provides guidelines for selecting, sizing, locating, and evaluating grain aeration systems, and it presents design examples of commonly used systems. The book contains approximately 50 figures and drawings, 20 tables, and more than a dozen design examples. Among the examples are designs for aeration pads, systems for cylindrical bins, and designs for rectangular storage with level fill and peaked fill and for flat storage with level top and sloping sides. This book focuses on dry grain aeration systems. It does not include design information for moving air through wet grain to hold it safely until it is dried or for cooling hot grain coming from a dryer. 1st Ed. 1997 ISBN 0-89373-093-9

Managing Dry Grain in Storage
AED-20 $2.00

Maintaining quality of dry grain in storage is considered in detail. Causes of grain spoilage, its prevention, insect control, and personal safety are addressed. 12 pages, 1987. ISBN 0-89373-049-1

Managing & Designing Bunker & Trench Silos
AED-43 $4.00

This publication reviews some of the general concepts involved in choosing and using bunker and trench silos, collectively called horizontal silos. It discusses the management techniques and design principles that can help a producer use a horizontal silo to its maximum potential. An example worksheet provides a step-by-step procedure for calculating the design requirements for a horizontal silo. 1st Ed. 1997
