Detection and Compensation of Specular Highlights
As shown in the experimental results below, the specularity detection process prevents the color object tracking system from loosing track of the target object. For more detailed "how-to explanation, please read the related conferene papers.

The provided movie will guide you how the detection of specularity will help on the tasks of color object tracking:

1. Without specularity detection and compensation process: demo1 (mpg-1 file) (2.8 Mb).

Here is an MPEG-I movie showing the Tracking with Specularity detection algorithm tracking a red toy truck.

Demo Video for a tracking sequence WITHOUT specularity detection & compensation. Please notice that the location of the tracking window is shifted as specular highlight appears dominantly! ..

2. With specularity detection and compensation process: demo2 (mpg-1 file) (2.0 Mb).

Here is another MPEG-I movie showing the Tracking with Specularity detection algorithm tracking a red toy truck.

Demo Video for a tracking sequence WITH specularity detection & compensation. Please notice that the object is always remained in the center of the tracking window. Simply A Better Tracking System !!! ..
