The changing of the calender to the year 2000 is a special event --- something that should be celebrated in a special way. Believe it or not, many places are already booked out which shows that now is not too early to be making plans.

Good question. The following is a list of places suggested so far, certainly more places can be appended. At some stage, however, a decision will have to be made and plans made concrete. Perhaps we can leave the places floating until June 1997 and then start voting. Remember, that a vote means intent to participate AND help with the arrangements.
TANZANIA (or somewhere in Africa)
Sit on the edge of a cliff and watch the sun rise over Lucy's
land and the cradle of mankind.
TASMANIA
A place we are not likely to go to otherwise. Besides the weather
should be good.
DUBLIN
A big clock has been installed in the river Liffey that will
explode (or something) at the magic moment. Expect thousands of
revellers aligned along the quays.
