Welcome to Purdue University's PRISM Center (established 1991)
What is a Prism?
"A wedge-shaped optical solid which disperses light passing through
it". The word stems from the Greek prisma, prismatos, a thing sawed,
meaning light separated into its components (different colors).
At our PRISM Center, knowledge is like light, integrated
from its elements (see PRISM Concept).
Purpose
The PRISM Center's purpose is the investigation,
experimentation, and development of knowledge on how to apply computer
intelligence and information technologies to most effectively improve
the performance and quality of industrial systems, particularly
in areas of computer-supported integration and collaboration.
