We are a research group focusing on topics related to speech recogniton, natural language processing, and language perception and understanding. Examples of current projects include name recognition, interfacing speech recognition and natural language processing, extensions to Hidden Markov Models, PAC-learning of Constraint Dependency Grammars, and part-of-speech tagging. Our lab is a part of the Purdue University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and is comprised of faculty and students from ECE as well as from the areas of Psychological Sciences and Audiology and Speech Sciences. We have received support for the equipment in our laboratory from NSF, Kodak, and Intel.
