Send me mail! (stacey@ecn.purdue.edu)
I would like to hear from anyone related (?) or with the same name out there!
I was born in Anderson, Indiana.
My parents are John and Darleen Craib.
My Father worked in Anderson for Delco Remy for 30 years, and retired
when he was 55.
He was in the Navy in WW II, then
he went to Arizona State, where he earned money in the Summer, playing softball.
My Mother's occupation was as a teacher. I believe she taught 4th grade the longest.
She graduated from Ball State University.
My paternal grandparents are John Henry and Emma Hardy Craib.
I know that my Great-Grandfather Craib came over to America on a boat
from Scotland. Craib is prounounced like "Craig" only with a "b".
(Of course, I was really excited to change my name to CLARK - something
I thought everyone would be able to spell and pronounce.
Needless to say, when I say "It is spelled with an E.", people spell
my name "Stacy Clarke"... duh!)
My maternal grandparents were Vern and Audra Shinn.
Grandma Shinn lived to be 90 years old, bless her heart!
Her maiden name was High.
She always made me feel special, even though she was bad at names
(THAT must be where I get it !!) and would have to say
Darleen, Janet, Dana, STACEY... when she called me by name! hee hee!!
At least I was near the top of the list!! (Poor Donnellyn!)
Grandpa Shinn played football for Ball State, and they called him
"Half Pint". He was short; but, he played quarterback!
He also got lots of medals for track.
He coached football at Anderson High school, and was a shop teacher.
