ACTIVE PROJECTS FOR SPRING 2006:

Oral History: The main goal of this project is to acquire and edit video interviews of Tippecanoe residents for distribution in several formats. The project is composed of four sections. The design and construction of a mobile set is a prerequisite to interviewing residents. Second, the acquiring of video from interviews and editing of that video is necessary. After that, the video is to be put in MPEG-2 format and incorporated into a DVD. Finally, we create a Quicktime-formatted video for streaming, and identify keyframes for extraction and entry into the database.

Imaging: The Imaging team has various tasks and goals: Compiling digital images and video of TCHA locations and events for the image/video database, developing search criteria/information for digital images for the image database project, completing a multimedia virtual tour of the Fowler House and the Battlefield.

PENDING PROJECTS:

Battlefield Display: This project will create a moving display of the Battle of Tippecanoe that will interact with visitors at the Battleground Museum. This is meant to act as a learning tool for visitors to better understand the events of the battle. The user will choose a move for one of the battle commanders, and then will receive a correct or incorrect response from the monitor. Once the answer is correct, the display will move the figurines to their next position in the actual historical battle.
