Course Objectives

This course has two main objectives:

  1. Extend the material taught in an introductory structural mechanics/strength of materials/mechanics of materials course (such as CE 270 here at Purdue) to cover more complicated situations.
  2. Introduce to subject of elasticity, which is widely used as the basis for advanced analysis and design.
